We’re introducing a new Pages Migration Tool to make it easier for Page Editors to move existing content from the legacy HTML editor into the new Pages editor. This update will be available from July 22nd and will be enabled by default for customers using the new Pages experience.
What is Changing?
With this release, Page Editors will be able to automatically convert legacy HTML pages into the new editor format - no need to manually rebuild pages from scratch.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Automatic conversion of existing HTML pages into the new Lexical editor.
- Preservation of layout, formatting, and structure where supported by the new editor.
- Images, videos, and links will transfer automatically.
- The page URL and analytics will remain unchanged.
- You can switch between the old and new editors at any time during the migration process.
- A re-sync option allows you to update the new version if you make changes to the original HTML page.
Why We’re Making This Change
This update is designed to make the transition to our new Pages experience faster and easier. By automating the migration process, we’re helping customers:
- Save time and effort when updating existing content.
- Maintain consistency across pages without needing to rebuild layouts manually.
- Adopt the new Pages V2 experience with minimal disruption.
What do I need to do?
If your organisation is already using the new Pages experience, no action is required - the Migration Tool will be available automatically from July 22nd.
If your organization is not yet on Pages V2, you’ll need to enable it first to access the Migration Tool.
