We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of Pages Version Control! This powerful new capability introduces version history to Workvivo Pages - giving editors and admins full visibility into how content evolves over time, and the ability to restore previous versions when needed.
Whether you’re managing compliance-sensitive content or simply want peace of mind when editing, Version Control ensures your Pages stay accurate, auditable, and easy to manage. Note, this applies to new Pages only, not HTML Pages.
What is Changing?
Version History for Pages
Editors can now access a Version History modal that lists all previously published versions of a page, complete with timestamps and editor names. From here, you can:
- View previous versions in read-only mode
- Restore a previous version (creating a new version in the process)
- Label key versions with custom names (e.g. “Q1 Policy Update”) for easy reference
- Versions are saved whenever a user selects Save as Draft or Publish.
Last Edited Information
Each page now displays a Last Edited timestamp and the Editor’s name directly in the page header, helping to build trust in the accuracy of your information.
Named Versions
Editors can assign custom names to important versions, making it easier to track major updates or policy changes over time.
Restore with Confidence
If something goes wrong or content is accidentally overwritten, editors can restore a previous version with a single click. A confirmation prompt ensures you’re always in control before changes are applied.
Why we're making this change
We know that maintaining content accuracy and compliance is critical - especially for organisations in regulated industries like healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.
This release is designed to:
- Provide transparency into who edited a page, when, and what changed
- Support governance and audit requirements with a clear version trail
- Enable content recovery in case of accidental edits or deletions
- Strengthen our position as a knowledge management platform
What do I need to do?
No action is needed right now - Pages Versioning will be automatically available once released on July 17, 2026.
