Whether you're building out some new Pages content, or simply refreshing some existing content, these updates make it easier to create polished, professional pages that reflect your organisation's identity.
What's Changing
1. Text & Highlight Colour Customisation
What's changing
Editors can now apply custom text colours and highlight colours directly from the toolbar. The first six colours shown are your company's default brand swatches. Need something specific? Click the "+" button to open a full colour picker and enter any hex code to match your brand precisely.
Custom colours are saved to a personal swatch row for easy reuse. You can store up to 11 custom colours, and remove any by hovering and clicking the trash icon. Default brand swatches cannot be deleted. Custom colours display on mobile, with the exception of dark mode for accessibility reasons.
Why it matters
On-brand, visually engaging pages no longer require workarounds. Editors get the colour flexibility they need to make key content stand out - while keeping everything aligned with organisational branding.
-
2. Callout Colour Customisation
What's changing
Callout components now support background colour customisation. Choose from a version of your company colour and four standard colours to help important information stand out to readers. Callout colours display on mobile, with the exception of dark mode for accessibility reasons.
Why it matters
Callouts are one of the most-used components for drawing attention to critical information. Colour options make them more visually distinctive and easier to differentiate on a page.
-
3. Font Support
What's changing
Pages (new experience) now supports 15 web-safe fonts, accessible directly from the toolbar. Fonts are also supported on mobile - where a device doesn't support a specific font, a fallback is applied automatically.
Why it matters
Typography plays a big role in readability and branding. With a wider selection of fonts, editors can better match their organisation's visual identity and create more polished, professional-looking pages.
-
4. Video Enhancements
What's changing
Editors can now choose a custom thumbnail when adding a video to a page and manage subtitles directly within the editor. On mobile, updated player options are now shown for embedded videos.
Why it matters
A polished thumbnail and subtitle support make video content more accessible and engaging - especially for organisations using pages as a hub for training, onboarding, or leadership communications.
-
5. Version Change Highlighting
What's changing
When viewing Version History, editors can now toggle "Show changes" to see what was added, deleted, or edited between versions. Changes are highlighted at the block level, making it easy to spot what's different at a glance.
Why it matters
This builds on the Pages Version Control feature launched earlier and takes the guesswork out of reviewing edits. Content owners can quickly understand what changed between versions without manually comparing pages side by side - essential for governance, compliance, and content accuracy.
-
6. Card Layout Options
What's changing
Card components now support additional layout options: full width, image-only, and text-only cards. Simply select a card layout from the dropdown when editing.
Card Layouts will be released shortly after the initial bundle - not included in the October 6th rollout.
Why it matters
More layout flexibility means editors can design pages that better suit different content types - whether it's a visual showcase, a text-heavy resource page, or a clean navigation hub.
Why We're Making This Change
These enhancements are a direct response to customer feedback following the Pages launch earlier this year. They're designed to:
- Bring the new Pages experience closer to feature parity with legacy Pages by closing gaps flagged by users
- Give editors more creative control over colours, fonts, and layouts
- Improve the video experience with thumbnails, subtitles, and mobile player updates
- Make version tracking more actionable with visual change highlighting
What Do I Need to Do Now?
These enhancements will be automatically available once the update goes live. The majority of features are scheduled for October 6th, with Card Layouts following shortly after.
For Page Editors: Explore the new colour, font, and layout tools once available - and use "Show changes" in Version History to track edits more easily.
For All Users: You'll see richer, more visually polished pages across your organisation as editors take advantage of the new capabilities.
