The Content Moderation feature for Workvivo Livestreams gives administrators and designated moderators the ability to manage live chat messages in real time. This functionality helps organisations maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging environment during company-wide broadcasts.
What is Content Moderation
Content Moderation allows authorised users to delete or edit messages in a livestream chat. It ensures that inappropriate or disruptive comments can be removed immediately, helping maintain a positive experience for all participants and provides more control over live chat interactions during live, large-scale events.
Key Features
- Livestream Moderator Role
A new Livestream Moderator role can be assigned through the Admin Hub. Users with this role can monitor and manage chat messages during a livestream. In addition to this role, platform Admins can also delete inappropriate messages or entire threads as needed.
- Delete Live Chat Messages
Livestream Moderators (new role) and platform Admins can:- Delete individual messages or threads in real time. Deleting a message or thread immediately removes it from the chat for all viewers.
- Remove inappropriate or off-topic comments to maintain a professional environment.
- Edit or Delete Own Messages
To give livestream attendees more control over their own contribution and to maintain transparency in the chat, message authors can now:- Edit their own messages to correct mistakes.
- Delete their own messages if they no longer wish them to appear.
- Playback Experience
After a livestream ends:- Message authors can still edit / delete their own comments in the playback viewer.
- Livestream moderators can manage comments in the playback view to ensure consistency.
- Reporting of content and analytics remain unchanged.
- Mobile Support
Moderation actions, including editing and deleting content are supported on the mobile app ensuring effective content management from anywhere.

How to Get Started
- Assign the Livestream Moderator Role
- Go to Admin Hub → Roles & Permissions.
- Add the Livestream Moderator role to selected users who will be monitoring the livestream.
- Test the Feature
- Run a test livestream to familiarise moderators with the new control.

- During a livestream, moderators can use the three-dot menu beside a message to delete or edit as needed.
