Value Translation

Having clear values helps your employees understand what your company stands for. These values guide their work and provide a sense of security.

We've improved the process of creating values. Now, you can select the language for your values, eliminating the need to create multiple versions of the same value in different languages.

This new feature allows you to translate the name and description of your existing values into 49 languages. See here for the complete list of supported languages.

Device(s): Desktop for setup, Desktop or Mobile for viewing translations

Roles / Permissions: System Admin and Org Global Editor can add translations to Values

Adding Translations To Existing Values

  1. Click on the Values button in the navigation bar, to bring you to the Values section
  2. Click on the Value from the list
  3. Click “Edit” (top right)
  4. Locate the “Add Translations” link under the “Name” and “Description” fields1.png
  5. Click “Add Translations”
  6. The original text is displayed in greyed-out box
  7. Click “+ Add a Language”2.png
  8. From the “Select” dropdown menu, choose the target language3.png
  9. Add the translation text manually (or copy/paste)4.png
  10. Follow step 7-9 to add multiple languages
  11. Click “Submit”
  12. Click “Save”
  13. If a user's Workvivo profile language is set to any of the translations added, they will see the value in that language. For instance, if you add a Swedish translation for the “Name” of a value, users with their profile language set to Swedish will see the value name in Swedish:5.png

Removing Translation From Existing Values

  1. Click on the Values button in the navigation bar, to bring you to the Values section
  2. Click on the Value from the list
  3. Click “Edit” (top right)
  4. Click on “Translations: X Added”, where 'X' represents the total number of languages previously added6.png
  5. Locate the language you want to remove and click “X” on the top-right corner of the text box7.png
  6. To remove a language, find it in the list and click the 'X' icon in the text box's top-right corner8.png
  7. Click “Submit”9.png
  8. Click “Save”

Additional Information

  • Translations can be added to all of your existing values.
  • Values will appear in the language in which your Workvivo profile is set.
