We are committed to making our platform accessible to every user. We believe everyone should feel connected within their company and we are committed to provide all users with the ability to do so.
Accessibility Features on Workvivo Web
We have a whole host of features on Workvivo Web that makes it an inclusive platform.
Overall, our platform is very intuitive and simple to use, and does not require any difficult learning for users to use Workvivo web.
At Workvivo, we develop all our web features with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA guidelines in mind, so that we are using industry standard web accessibility guidelines to make sure everyone can use our platform. We run daily automated test reports on the platform which serves as a final check to make sure no guidelines are broken with the introduction of new updates added to the platform.
For people with motor disabilities who primarily use a keyboard to navigate the web, they can comfortably navigate the platform as we develop our features so that every element (e.g. button, link, etc.) can be reached via a keyboard, every element has a clear focus state to let the user know they are focused on that element, every element is explicit in what it does if you press on it, and much more.
For people with low to no vision who primarily use a screen reader to navigate the web, they can do so as all our elements have explicit indication as to what the element does when pressed, alternative text is available on images to help describe what is within the image, any changes that happen on the UI will get announced to the screen reader user (e.g. when they like a post, it will let the user know they have liked that post), and much more.
Accessibility Goals going Forward
- To constantly improve the Workvivo experience for all users by striving towards WCAG AA 2.1 principles and guidelines across the platform.
- Improve the experience for all those with accessibility needs such as keyboard and screenreader users, but also those users who may have special auditory needs, learning disability needs and so forth.
- We ensure that accessibility is an integral part of our development lifecycle.
- Improve the awareness of accessibility across our own employees.
