Acceptable Usage Policy
To set expectations with employees, and to reduce the need for content moderation, we recommend uploading an Acceptable Usage Policy to the platform. This contains the Usage T&Cs which all users are prompted to read and accept before they can gain further access to the platform. Once logged in, they will see pre-loaded content which sets the tone for what's expected.
Accountability & Moderation
On Workvivo User's details such as their name and avatar always appear beside their posts so it is not an anonymous platform.
System admins and moderators have sight of all global, team and public space content. There is a Reported Post function which all users can use to flag any posts they deem to be violating the Acceptable Usage Policy. They can access this by clicking the three dots on any content posted.
They then will be prompted to give a short explanation.
System Administrators will receive a notification when a post has been flagged. They can review and ignore the report or delete the post if it's inappropriate or unsuitable.
Supporting your Acceptable Usage Policy
You can create a post on Workvivo to support your acceptable usage policy if you like. Here is some suggested wording you can use to reinforce that your workplace, and Workvivo, are inclusive and welcoming places in which inappropriate behaviour won't be tolerated:

Workvivo is an extension of your workplace
Consider that Workvivo is an extension of your workplace. Any topic, comment, or post etc. that you would not bring in the office, please keep to yourself!
Workvivo brings together more than x employees in y different countries, all with multiple backgrounds, faiths and beliefs. What can seem like a harmless joke to you can be hurtful to some of your teammates, so please always be kind and mindful of others before you post something!
Company Name are proud that our teammates comes from backgrounds with differing faiths and expect you to respect each other's beliefs.
Any negative photos and comments about race will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Sexual Preference ?
A co-worker's sexuality is not to be commented on, it is of no concern to you.
Here at Company Name, we do not comment on other's political views.
Reporting a post ?
If a post goes against the values we outlined, please report it. To do so:
- Click the three dots in the top right of the post
- Click report post and give details as to how and why the post is being reported.
