Reporting a Post
Reported posts are posts which have been flagged by users if they deem them to be violating the Acceptable Usage Policy.
- On the activity feed, any user can click the More Actions (…) button beside a post and select Report Post.
- A reason and category must be provided when reporting a post. By encouraging context when reporting, it saves time for the reviewer.
- Admins and Moderators are notified that a post has been reported. The author is not.
Managing a Reported Post
- When a post is reported, Admins and Moderators receive a notification.
- The post is still visible to its audience in the feed when flagged.
- A ‘pending report’ message appears above the post for Admins and Moderators to see.
- Admins or Moderators can click on this banner to view the reason for reporting the post.
- They can click ‘ignore’ at the end of the reason to ignore the reported post or they can click the More Actions (…) button and ‘Delete Post’ to delete it.
Reported posts and comments can also be managed from within the Reported Content section of the Admin Hub. Click "Review" to open the report and action.
Note: Workvivo keeps a note of the original post or comment reported should the author edit it.
Ignoring a Reported Post
The moderator can choose to ignore a reported post or comment so that it remains on the platform.
If there are multiple reports, the moderator can select Ignore All to ignore all reports about the same post / comment.
It's important to note that once a post has been ignored, the moderator is acknowledging that the post or comment does not contain content that violates the Acceptable Usage Policy.
Tip - Always check the original versions of reported content when edits are made to ensure fair moderation and avoiding misinterpretation.
Governance Analytics
In addition to viewing reported posts and comment in the Admin section, there is a dedicated dashboard as part of Governance Analytics
Go to Analytics -> Governance -> Reported Content.
This allows a complete view of all content that has been reported, along with quick filters to understand content that is pending review.
Notes on Reported Content
- The person who reported the post will not be notified of the outcome. The Admin / Moderator should reach out to this person separately, especially if it was decided to ignore the reported post.
- A Moderator will not have access to the reported post if the audience of the post is a team/space they are not a member of.
- If a post is reported, the post creator does not receive a notification when is it reported, nor do they receive a notification if their post is deleted.
- It is advisable to inform someone that their post was reported, this helps educate team members on what content and tone is appropriate for the platform.
- Once a reported post has been deleted it is removed from the platform, therefore these posts will not appear when reporting on content analytics.
- When content from a hidden or private space is reported, and a system admin who is not a member of that space receives the report notification, they won't be able to view the content directly from the notification. This is to prevent redirecting users to a space they don't have access to and to avoid revealing the existence or location of private/hidden content (e.g., the name of the hidden space). However, system admins who are not members of the space can still view the reported content only through the report dashboard.
- If the reported content is from a space the system admin is a member of, then they will be able to view it directly from the report notification, as they have appropriate access.
Reporting on Mobile
