The ability to schedule the publication of upcoming events is a great feature to use to ensure they are not visible to other users until a date and time of your choosing.
If you create an event today it automatically publishes to the activity feed. As a result, creating a number of events at the same time can lead to a cluttered feed and poor user experience.
This feature allows you to create multiple events at once without flooding the activity feed with event posts.
It also allows you to create ‘surprise’ events that may be linked to a campaign or upcoming announcement. You can hide these events from general users until a desired date/time and align them with the publication of other scheduled content, such as articles.

How to schedule the publication of upcoming events
Create an event as you usually would and fill out all the fields, including the event start and end date/time.
If you want to schedule the publication of the event, select the checkbox in the bottom right of the editor and choose a date/time from the date picker.
On this date/time the event will be posted to the feed and will also be visible to all users in the events section.
Before your selected publish date/time the event will only be visible in the ‘Manage Events’ section to users with the necessary permissions.
