Admins have the ability to create Chat groups from an existing team and space or custom groups from Chat Admin via the Administration menu:

Admins now have powerful new options for creating custom chat groups directly from the Chat Administration menu. Here's how it works:
Custom Groups
Admins can manually create chat channels by:

Navigating to the Chat Administration menu.

Entering a optional channel name.

Adding users via a comma-separated or newline-separated list of email addresses.

The default maximum group size is 500 users.
Groups from Spaces or Teams
Admins can also create chat groups based on existing Spaces or Teams within Workvivo:

From the Chat Admin menu, select Create from Space or Team.

Use the dropdown to choose the Space or Team.
Only Spaces or Teams with 500 members or fewer will appear in the dropdown.

Once created, the admin will receive a notification. Clicking this notification will bring them directly to the newly created group.
Important Notes

This menu is only for creating groups. Ongoing maintenance (e.g., editing group details or membership) must be done via the Information menu within the group channel.

For Spaces:

Users with elevated permissions (e.g., Space Owner, Admin, Moderator) will automatically be assigned the Operator role in the chat group.

For Teams:

The Admin who creates the group will be set as the Operator.

If the Admin wishes to leave the group, they must reassign the Operator role to another member first.

This feature does not support auto enrolment:

The group reflects membership at the time of creation only.

New members must be added manually later if needed.
