Why use the PDF Viewer?
If you upload a file to the Documents section, a space document or update, by default the file will open within your browser's PDF viewer and be available for users to download.
Should you wish to change the default behaviour, Workvivo has a PDF viewer which will show the document over the Workvivo Activity page in a read-only format, rather than opening the document in a new tab leaving it available to download.
This feature is useful if your preference is that employees should not be able to download files from Workvivo
How it works
For example adding a Powerpoint attachment to an update: Once this feature is switched on, create your update with a .pptx attachment and press "Post". The attachment will automatically convert when the update is posted.
You may see this message. It can take a few minutes to convert depending on the size of the attachment.
When it has successfully converted you will be able to click into the attachment, it will open on the same screen and you will be able to navigate through the pages in read-only mode.
