2025 Release Notes

We are so excited when we release new features and enhancements - we cannot wait to hear how our customers use them to improve their employee experience. Most new features and enhancements are automatically enabled for your organization's Workvivo when they become available, but some are optional or add-ons. For any optional features, let us know if you would like them enabled. Keep an eye on our newsletters and this page to see what's new!

December 2025

Enhancements

• Chat - Quoted Replies: Now, employees can reply directly to specific messages, keeping context visible and discussions organised - even in the busiest group chats.
  No more scrolling back or guessing what someone meant. Just focused, meaningful conversations that flow naturally and help teams get work done faster. It’s communication made clearer, collaboration made simpler. More information on replying to chat messages here

• Chat - @all in Chat Channels: Need to get everyone’s attention? Now you can. With @all in Workvivo Chat, you can notify every member of a channel at once - perfect for sharing important updates, team announcements, or urgent messages that can’t be missed. More information on Chat here

• Journeys - Offboarding Trigger: This new trigger lets you create and launch Offboarding Journeys for employees who are leaving the company. To use this trigger, you'd need to start including Offboarding Dates for departing employees in your provisioning file. Once this date is provided, we can recognize when someone is scheduled to leave and trigger the journey for them. Journey Admins/Managers can also choose number of days before employee's last date that the journey should start. To learn more and enable this trigger please reach out to your Workvivo contact.

• Journeys -  Sync Audience: For journeys with a Default Trigger (e.g., mandatory training), new audience who join after the journey is activated were not automatically enrolled, even though they matched the journey’s audience. To resolve this issue, we've added an option allowing you to sync Journeys audience and pull all newly eligible users into an already active journey—without rebuilding or republishing the journey.

Enhancements

• Pinned and Starred Spaces in the Side Menu: We have introduced updates for the Spaces section of the Side Menu, featuring global Pinned Spaces (admin-controlled) and personal Starred Spaces (user-controlled) to bring more order and structure to space navigation. These controls enable users to quickly access their most important and frequently used spaces. For more information, see Side Navigation Bar.

• Granular Auto-Enrolment Rules: Auto-enrolment just got a major upgrade with the introduction of 'AND' logic, giving admins the power to achieve precise, granular audience targeting on a self-serve basis. You can now easily combine criteria (e.g., Location AND Department) to accurately target specific user groups. For more information, see Enrolling People and Teams to Spaces.
• Chat - Presence Indicator: The Presence Indicator allows users to see whether a colleague is online, offline, or recently active directly within Chat. This small but powerful visual cue transforms the way employees communicate by helping them better understand when teammates are likely available to respond. More information on Chat here
• Chat - Mobile Search: With our latest update, search on mobile chat now matches the web experience giving employees a seamless, familiar way to find messages, people, and groups across every device. More information on Chat here

New Features

• Workvivo Journeys - Workvivo Journeys transforms Workvivo from a communications hub into an orchestration engine; one that guides employees through every stage of their experience, from onboarding to growth and beyond.
  Journeys enables you to deliver targeted, automated, and personalized employee workflows. With triggers, steps, templates, a centralized message hub, and analytics, you can design, create, and track tailored communications workflows. Accessible via web and mobile, Journeys ensures employees receive the right content at the right time at scale. More on Journeys here.

New Features

• Surveys & Forms: We’re excited to introduce Surveys & Forms, a major upgrade of our Surveys product that expands its capabilities to cover a much wider range of employee use cases, from capturing engagement and feedback to collecting operational inputs and requests. With this release, creators can now build both surveys and forms from the same intuitive interface, making it easier to gather insights, streamline processes, and act on employee input, all within Workvivo.
   
  • Unified Builder: Create both surveys and forms in one simple, flexible interface. Leverage AI for quick, intuitive creation; or choose the questions, settings, and configurations that best suit your use case, whether it is a survey or a form.
  • New Question Types: Collect more detailed and structured data with new input types including date/time pickers, file uploads, dropdowns, contact fields, number fields, and email fields, all complementing existing Survey capabilities.
  • Flexible Notification Settings: Control precisely how forms and surveys reach their audience through targeted notifications, prominent Billboard placement, or a combination of both approaches.
  • Configurable Submission Settings: Set forms and surveys to accept single responses for formal processes or multiple submissions for continuous feedback, recurring requests, or ongoing operational needs. Configure if submissions are sent progressively or upon final submission.
  • Improved Sharing and Distribution: Share and pin forms and surveys more effectively with rich previews, providing additional distribution channels beyond traditional notifications and Billboard placement.
  • New Reporting and Analytics: Access all submissions in a searchable table format, examine individual responses, compare responses across questions, and process submissions to optimise your workflow and follow-up actions.

• Livestreams - New Live Experience: We’ve refreshed the livestream viewing experience on Workvivo for third-party streams, making them cleaner, more immersive, and more engaging. Viewers now have new controls like full screen, audio adjustment, and the ability to minimize chat - delivering a smoother, more intuitive live experience. More on Livestreams here.
• Chatbots - Attachments - You can now add images, videos, and files directly into bot responses—making conversations clearer, faster, and more engaging. More on Chatbots here.
• Chat - Pinning a Chat Channel - With this update, users can now pin their most important channels to the top of their channel list for instant access. No more endless scrolling or searching to find where the action’s happening - your key chats are always right where you need them. More on Chat here
• Chat - Message yourself - Your personal space in chat! Save ideas, notes, and links privately — so you never lose track of what matters. More on Chat here

Enhancements

• Video Subtitle Controls: We’ve introduced a few new fenhancements to have more control over video subtitles. This includes enabling or disabling video subtitles for videos (specially handy when a video has a built in caption), downloading auto-generated subtitle files, uploading your own SRT file and the ability to edit, and remove custom subtitles.For more information, see Video Subtitle Control.
• Chat - Improved UX and Context on Threaded Replies: The channel list now gives you clearer insights into standard messages verses those that are replies, so it’s easier to see where conversations are happening. We’ve updated the button text from “Send” to “Reply” — making it super clear when you’re joining a thread. and When you open a threaded reply on mobile (especially from a push notification), you’ll now see the parent message right there — so you’ve got the full story at a glance. It also has a header of "Replies" and a count of replies on the page. These changes will make it easier to stay in the loop, keep context, and have smoother, more natural conversations across your team, especially in threads. More on Chat here.

New Features

• Employee Insights - Mobile Manager Insights: Mobile Manager Insights extends the value of Manager Insights by making team-level engagement dashboards accessible on mobile. Designed for managers on the go or away from their desk, these dashboards provide quick, focused access to key metrics - no laptop required. More on Employee Insights here.
• Post Drafts: We've introduced a new feature to the posting modal allowing you to save a post as a draft without publishing it. You can return later, edit, and publish when ready. This gives you more control and flexibility over the content. More on Post Drafts.
• Pages in AI: Now you can ask Workvivo AI questions and receive answers from your organization's Pages content, complete with source links, making it easier to find information without searching through multiple pages. For more information, see Overview of Workvivo AI.

Enhancements

• Reordering Sub Spaces: We’ve introduced the ability for Space Owners, Admins, and Managers to reorder Sub Spaces, addressing a navigation and management gap. Sub Spaces can now be easily reorganised from the left-hand menu or the Sub Spaces page hierarchy view, through a consistent, streamlined flow. This update makes navigation more intuitive, reduces admin friction, and supports organisations in accurately reflecting their Space structures. For more information, see Sub Spaces.

• Comments Enhancements & Emoji Reactions on Comments: Introducing emoji reactions on comments! Express yourself beyond the heart-only reaction with a wide range of emojis. This release also includes enhanced commenting features including formatting options (bold, italic), emoji shortcodes, mentions, hashtags, and partial mentioning capabilities. • Reordering Links and Quick Links: We’ve added the ability to easily reorder links and folders in the Links and Quick Links and widgets. Links and folders can now be easily rearranged within a streamlined sort modal using drag-and-drop, ensuring important resources are always prioritised and visible. This update improves navigation, reduces admin effort, and helps organisations keep their most relevant links front and centre. For more information, see Space Links Widget.
• Folders in Newsletters: Managing newsletters in Workvivo is about to get a whole lot easier. With folders, you can now group newsletters into common themes or groupings, giving you a clearer, more organized view of your communications. Learn more here
• Enhanced targeting in Newsletters: Our enhanced Newsletter targeting lets you handpick exactly who receives your message - simply copy and paste your target list and watch engagement soar. Find out more here
• Employee Insights
  • Comment Sentiment Analysis: Easily analyze sentiment across all Employee Insights survey comments to gain deeper insights into employee feedback. 
  • Comment Translations: Employee Insights now supports comment translations, making it easier to understand feedback across a multilingual workforce. Users can translate survey comments into their preferred language for easier analysis and more inclusive decision-making.

• Space Promotion and Discovery: A range of complementary features aimed at ensuring relevant spaces are promoted to, and discovered by, the right audiences at the right times. Include preferred audience controls, featured and trending space options, new onboarding screens, and space share previews. More on Space Promotion and Discovery.

Enhancements

• Space Creation and Management: A redesigned space configuration flow that makes creating and editing spaces simple, fast, and intuitive. Includes new functionality to make any Space feature the landing page of the space and the ability to enable and disable all Space features. More on Space Creation and Management.

• Bulk-Unenrolment from Spaces: You can now unenrol users from a space in bulk by providing a list of user email addresses or using a quick selection method. • Space Auto-enrolment: A redesigned space selection experience enables you to better search and select the space you want to configure auto-enrolment settings for. More on Enrolling People and Teams to Spaces.
• Employee Insights - 'Copy Link' for Scheduled Surveys: You can now copy the link to a scheduled survey before it goes live - perfect for generating QR codes and planning comms in advance. More on Employee Insights here.
  
• Employee Insights - Compare More Segment Results at a Glance: We’ve increased the segment row limit in Radar to 15, enabling you to compare more groups and uncover deeper insights across your organisation. More on Employee Insights here.
• Our brand new admin experience - With a brand-new layout, intuitive grouping of tools, and smarter navigation, the new Admin Panel gives you more control, faster access, and a much smoother experience. We've also improved our reporting centre experience. See more here.

Enhancements

• New Livestream Playback Experience: We’ve introduced a new playback experience for RTMPS Livestreams, bringing replays to life with synced reactions, real-time chat replay, and rich comment interactions. Viewers can relive the moment as it happened, access detailed analytics, and easily share the recording - all from the original livestream URL. More on the New Playback Experience here.
• Workvivo AI in-region processing: Workvivo AI now supports regional data processing, allowing AI functionality to be handled within specific geographic regions rather than globally. This enhancement helps ensure data privacy compliance and improved performance for users in different locations.
• Workvivo AI Permissions: AI administrators can easily give all users access to the Ask, Compose and Survey generation AI features. Instead of assigning AI access permissions user by user, administrators can now enable access to the AI features for all users with the flick of a switch. More on managing AI permissions here.

April 2025

New Features

• Advanced Analytics Sentiment Dashboard: Get an overview of the sentiment across the organization based on a sentiment analysis of updates, shout-outs, questions and answers, and comments. Identify trends, filter by teams and proactively get ahead of potential issues. Available for customers who have the Advanced Analytics Add-On. More detail on this dashboard here.

• Manual Edit of Video Subtitle: We’ve added the ability to manually edit automatically generated subtitles on videos. This gives you more control and ensures better accuracy—especially for important communications across regions and languages. Subtitles are still auto-generated, but now you can fine-tune them as needed. More details here.

• Manual Post Translation: Workvivo now supports Manual Post Translations for Updates, Shout-Outs, and Value Updates. While Amazon Translate provides automatic, real-time translations, this new feature allows you to add and edit translations manually for greater accuracy. This is especially useful in industries where precision is critical. More details here.
• Workvivo App in MS Teams: Workvivo is now available in the Microsoft Teams App Store. This integration will allow users to seamlessly access the Workvivo experience directly within Teams—bringing company communications, culture, and engagement into the flow of daily work. More details here.

Enhancements

• Access Newsletters in-browser: Great news, from today, all newsletters sent via Workvivo can also be accessed in-browser. Check out our knowledge base for more information on this feature
   
• Chat - Create Channels from Spaces or Teams:All chat customers now have access to the following enhancements: Chat group size limit increased to 500 (up from 250), Create chat groups directly from Spaces (up to 500 members) via Chat Admin, Create chat groups from Teams (up to 500 members) via Chat Admin. • Space Auto-enrolment: A redesigned enrolment flow for provisioning spaces allows you to first pick the space and then select the teams you want to be enrolled, making the experience more simple and streamlined. More on Enrolling People and Teams to Spaces.

  Sentiment Analysis is a key element of Workvivo's Employee Listening Suite, empowering you with more continuous insights into sentiment across the organization at any moment in time. More on Sentiment Analysis here.

• Manager Insights in Employee Insights: Manager Insights is a key part of Workvivo's Employee Insights that gives individual managers direct access to their team’s engagement survey results, helping them understand how their team feels. With clear insights, they can spot issues, celebrate successes, and take meaningful action to improve engagement. More on Manager Insights here.
• Analytics Update - Usage Heatmaps: Two usage heatmaps added to Usage Analytics. These allow Admins and Internal Comms users to better understand when people are most active and plan content scheduling accordingly. More information can be found in the Usage Analytics Help Centre article
• Analytics Update - Reported Content Dashboard: Dashboard added to Governance Analytics. This provides key information on what content (posts and comments) have been reported and why, and enables quick action by admins. • Advanced Analytics Update - Advanced Livestream Analytics Dashboard: A brand new dashboard dedicated to RTMPS Livestreams, showing information on overall Livestream use, detailed statistics on each livestream, and detailed graphs and tables on each livestream such as attendees, chat messages, concurrent viewers, reactions and message trends. Enhancements

• Advanced Analytics - Hashtags dashboard now includes comments: Previously the Hashtags dashboard (available as part of Advanced Analytics) did not count hashtag use in comments, only in the main body of the post. Now this dashboard also counts the use of hashtags in comments. More on Hashtag Analytics here
• Employee Insights - Edit Live Survey End Date: Admins can now modify the end date of a live survey, offering greater flexibility to extend its duration and collect more responses if needed. More on Employee Insights here.
• New Translations: Added support for Lithuanian and Latvian. More on Workvivo Localization on Web and Mobile here. 

• Grouped Notifications for Comments & Reactions: 

  To keep Workvivo engaging yet focused, notifications for similar interactions are grouped together—helping you stay informed while keeping your feed tailored (enabled for web, push and email notifications). More on Workvivo Notifications here.

• Add a Video to your Survey Intro Screen: You can now add a video to your survey intro screen - perfect for sharing a personal message or setting the tone before employees respond to your survey. More on Surveys here. 
• Q&A Posting Permissions: Posting restrictions within a Space are now split out into separate configurations so that restrictions can be set for the Feed and the Q&A individually. For more information, go to Space Design and Setup.
